According to accounts, Anand Mahindra had been a tenant in the same bungalow that his grandpa and M&M Founder, KC Mahindra, had rented decades before he was even born, on Mumbai’s Nepean Sea Road.
When the owners intended to destroy and redevelop the home and requested Mr Mahindra to leave, he went ahead and bought the 13,000 sq ft ‘Gulistan’ property for a whopping Rs 270 crore about a decade ago. He still resides in the house where he grew up.
2. Drives A Simple Car
Mr Mahindra, although being an automobile magnate, does not own many flashy automobiles. The Mahindra Chairman is a firm believer in his own products and owns a fleet of Mahindra SUVs.
Though he changes his automobiles on a regular basis, he used to drive Mahindra Scorpio and TUV 300 Plus, both of which are mid-range SUVs, and his most recent update was in 2019 when he bought his current car, the Alturas G4.
3. Doesn’t Wear A Watch
It’s hard to believe that someone as powerful and busy as this man can go through life without wearing a watch, right? But, contrary to popular belief, Mr Mahindra does not wear timepieces or have a dazzling collection of luxury watches, as one might expect of a billionaire.

Anand Mahindra said that he wears a lungi at home while publishing a post about the new work from home video-call attires in light of the COVID-19 lockout.
Not only that, but he also acknowledged to wearing one during a video conversation with his colleagues. Who’d have guessed, right?
