Cricketers Were Involved In Scandals That Shocked The Game
1. Shane Warne
Shane Warne, the Aussie hero, can’t keep his hands off the scandal. For allegedly bullying British nurse Donna Wright with his sleazy phone calls and voice messages, he courted headlines in the past. He was also notoriously known for being over-friendly with a Melbourne stripper in an inappropriate relationship with two 25-year-old models. Warne even kissed Elizabeth Hurley, his ex-girlfriend, in public once.
2. Shahid Afridi
Together with other Pakistani cricketers, Hasan Raza and Atiq-uz-Zaman, Shahid Afridi was caught in a Karachi hotel with some young women just before the 2000 Singapore tournament. They said when they were arrested that those women were just their fans and were there to pick up autographs. The Pakistan Cricket Board later dropped its name from the ICC Champions Trophy. An Indian model named Arshi Khan also said that Afridi had a physical relationship with her.
3. Kevin Pietersen
Cricket in England was said to be dating Vanessa Nimmo, a Playboy model, and Big Brother contestant. Nevertheless, they broke up after a month of brief contact. Later on, the model admitted that Kevin was a big-time s*x addict and pestered her for physical contact. She also disclosed that his success in bed was not satisfactory.
4. Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle is a party animal, as everyone knows. The Jamaican cricketer was found to be ‘friendly’ during ICC World T20 2012 with three British women in a Sri Lankan hotel room. A hotel employee accused him of flashing at her in 2015.

Former Captain Mike Gatting of England was involved illegally with a barmaid, Louise Shipman. During his first test against West Indies at Trent Bridge, he was also caught in a hotel room with Shipman.
6. Herschelle Gibbs
Herschelle Gibbs spoke frankly about his life in his autobiography, To The Point. Describing one escapade like that, he wrote,

During an intimate situation with a 23-year-old sales agent, the New Zealand pacer was caught and filmed in 2005 by two English visitors. However, the woman denied having ever met Tuffey when the video went viral.
8. Asad Rauf
When 21-year-old Iranian model Leena Kapoor accused him of having an affair with her, Pakistani umpire Asad Rauf courted controversy. She also accused him of s*xually abusing her for marriage purposes. Rauf, however, maintained that she was just a fan and by making such false statements she was trying to bask in his fame. The fans didn’t believe his stories, however, as their intimate images on the internet were already viral.

Both Pakistani players fanned a story that the Pakistani team threatened to abandon their South African Tour in 1998 after being mugged outside their Sandton Hotel post. It came to the surface later, though, that they chipped their teeth at a strip club called Club 69.
11. Sri Lankan Team for Temple Road Brothel
One of the biggest s*x scandals that the cricket industry has seen so far has involved the entire Sri Lankan team. A Wisen Almanack reported that a brothel on Temple Road at Mount Lavinia that served elite cricketers for the past 10 years had been raided by Sri Lankan police. In their twenties, 8 girls were all arrested along with their 78-year-old head.
12. West Indies Team
The West Indies team came under fire when they suffered 5 losses in the 2005 VB Series back to back. Sponsor Digicel said players have more women’s telephone numbers than the runs they’ve made in the entire tournament. A leaked document also reported that multiple door banging and female voices were heard by a Digicel representative in the hotel corridor the night before the match.
