1. Forty Shades of Blue Remake of Charulata

Satyajit Ray’s film ‘Charulata’ which is English was dubbed as ‘The Lonely Wife’ was remade by the Hollywood in 2005 as ‘Forty Shades of Blue’. This was an official remake where the production house themselves revealed that the film has been inspired by the movie of Satyajit Ray. Charulata is a love triangle, the story has been modernized and depicted in Forty Shades of Blue.

2. Divorce Invitation Remake of Ahvanaam

The Telugu film ‘Ahvanaam’ which was released in 1997 is a rom-com which tells the story of a husband who divorces his wife for money. The film was a big Telugu hit and it was remade in 2012 as Divorce Invitation.

3. Kill Bill Inspired From Abhay

An iconic Hollywood film which was directed by the famous direction Quentin Tarantino. Even though the story of the film ‘Kill Bill’ isn’t similar to any Indian story. But the director of the film admitted that the animated scenes, cut-offs shown in the film were inspired by the Tamil film ‘Abhay’. Abhay is a psychological thriller which starred Kamal Hassan in the lead role. The film used animation to depict the violent content.

4. 3 Idiots Remake Of 3 Idiots

One of the most successful Bollywood films of all time is 3 Idiots which starred Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan in the lead roles. The film was a global hit. Inspired by the film’s story, a Mexican company purchased the rights of the film and released the official remake in 2017.

Shah Rukh Khan portrayal of a psychopath lover in the film ‘Darr’ inspired many characters. The Hollywood film ‘Fear’ borrows a lot of plot elements and scenes from the Bollywood film ‘Darr’.

6. The Reincarnation of Peter Proud Is Inspired From Madhumati.

Not many people know of 1958 released Dilip Kumar starrer Madhumati. But Madhumati is the film which started the concept of reincarnation and paranormal romance in the cinema. The film was a big hit in the 1950s. American Author Max Ehrlich published the novel ‘The Reincarnation of Proud Peter’, the story of the novel is very similar to Madhumati. The book was adapted in 1975 as a film of the same name.
