Randeep Hooda, a Bollywood actor who portrayed Sarabjit Singh in the film about his life, kept his pledge and carried out Dalbir Kaur’s final rites.

Randeep Hooda instantly departed Mumbai after learning of Dalbir Kaur’s dying in order to keep his vow and carry out her funeral rites.

“I would like to tell Randeep that I actually have recognised Sarabjit in him,” Dalbir Kaur had said in 2017.

“I want to ask him to swear that he will give me “kandha” once I pass away since I have a wish (shoulder). My soul will experience the ‘kandha’ Sarabjit gave me “she declared.

She then said, “Finding my brother Randeep was a source of immense joy. He plays the role of both my brother and a hero in the movie. He received a shot in a little room when I arrived on the first day. I had the impression that my “sher” was there in that space.”

“I broke down in tears. I became upset, “said Dalbir to PTI. “I nearly became unwell when my blood pressure spiked. It made me incredibly emotional. I had previously admitted to them that I doubted my ability to watch the movie. I am considerably better now.”

I told him in a message that he has lived for a very long time and has never encountered any bad luck.

For the uninitiated, Sarbjit Singh was a farmer from Bhikhiwind town in Punjab who formerly resided close to the India-Pakistan border and who, after having a few beers, unintentionally crossed the border. But in 1991, a Pakistani court gave him the death penalty.

Singh was held in the Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore for 22 years until his fellow inmates attacked him and took him to the hospital. After being unconscious for five days due to severe head injuries sustained in an assault on him on the jail grounds in 2013, Singh was pronounced dead by medical staff at Lahore’s Jinnah Hospital.

His older sister Dalbir Kaur battled the system for her brother’s release during his 22 years in prison. Dalbir Kaur had consistently maintained that Sarbjit Singh, who had been arrested, was innocent and had accidentally strayed into Pakistan. She also visited her brother in Pakistan.
