Before the highly awaited Ganesh Chaturthi holiday, Anant Ambani donated a 20-kg gold crown valued at Rs 15 crore to Mumbai’s renowned Lalbaugcha Raja.

This donation was made in cooperation with the Reliance Foundation, which has over 15 years of experience supporting various charitable causes associated with the Lalbaugcha Raja.

The idol was unveiled earlier in the evening, and worshippers were in awe when they saw Lalbaugcha Raja in a gorgeous maroon attire paired with elaborate jewellery.

Thanks to several social and religious endeavours, Anant Ambani has established a close relationship with the Lalbaugcha Raja committee.

He has consistently attended Ganeshotsav celebrations over the years, including the idol’s big immersion at Girgaon Chowpatty Beach. His family has made contributions to the development of society by supporting several healthcare initiatives connected to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee through the Reliance Foundation.

When the committee struggled to raise money for its social work due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Anant Ambani was instrumental in helping to provide much-needed financial support.

His work supported the committee’s projects, such as the donation of 24 dialysis machines to meet the community’s medical requirements. His relationship with the committee was enhanced by this effort, and he is currently an executive advisor to the Lalbaugcha Raja committee.

One of Mumbai’s most venerated Ganesh idols, Lalbaugcha Raja, also referred to as the “King of Lalbaug,” serves as the centrepiece of the city’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

Countless admirers, both ordinary people and famous people, wait in lengthy lines to see this legendary hero every year. Starting on September 7, Maharashtra’s streets come alive with joy, rituals, and festivities during the 10-day Ganeshotsav holiday. The spectacular “visarjan,” which brings the celebration to a close, features the immersion of the Ganesha idols in water amid devotional chants and music.

The festivities have been made even more spectacular by Anant Ambani’s kind donation, and his ongoing participation demonstrates the Ambani family’s commitment to upholding Mumbai’s religious and cultural customs. They continue to significantly improve the community’s quality of life and support one of the nation’s most recognisable religious celebrations through their charitable endeavours.
