On September 17, Ajmer Sharif Dargah will commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 74th birthday by distributing 4,000 kilogrammes of vegetarian langar. Prepared in the famous “Big Shahi Deg,” the langar in the Dargah of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty carries on a 550-year-old tradition.

Officials from Dargah claim that the event is a part of the “Sewa Pakhwada” festivities. Syed Afshan Chishty, the Gaddi Nashin-Dargah Ajmer Sharif, announced that the langar would be given to the poor and devout and would consist of rice, dried fruits, and pure ghee.
Special prayers will also be for harmony, peace, and PM Modi’s wellbeing. Throughout the entire event, volunteers and followers will ignite the deg at 10:30 p.m. and distribute food while reciting verses from the Quran, devotional melodies, and Qawwalis.

The Indian Minority Foundation and Chishty Foundation will organise the langar, and food distribution will take place all morning to make sure everyone who comes can eat.
