A scammer, pretending to be a police officer, made a random call, thinking he could pull off a fraud. But, guess what? He didn’t realize he was dialing a real cop – and not just any cop, but one from the cyber cell in Thrissur, Kerala.
This guy was fully committed to the role. He even dressed in a police uniform and set up his surroundings to look like a legit police station. But things took an unexpected turn when the Thrissur officer answered the video call. When the cop flipped on his camera, the scammer’s face went from confident to completely stunned. He’d accidentally called a real officer, and boy, was he caught off guard.
The whole bizarre exchange was captured on video, and the Thrissur City Police shared it on Tuesday. The video quickly blew up online, with over 8,200 likes and 177,000 views. It’s safe to say people couldn’t get enough of it.
In the footage, the scammer can be heard asking, “Where are you?” The officer, initially keeping his camera off, replies, “My camera’s not working properly, sir.” But the scammer wasn’t buying it and kept pushing. So, the officer finally switched on his camera and calmly asked, “What do you do?” That’s when the scammer’s face dropped – and he burst out laughing, realizing just how badly he’d messed up.
With a smirk, the officer then told him to knock it off: “Stop doing this work… I have your address, your location, and everything… This is the cyber cell. It’s best you stop doing this.” Talk about a twist! The scammer’s bravado vanished in an instant, as the officer made it clear he was in no position to escape.
As soon as the video hit social media, the reactions came flooding in. People couldn’t help but laugh at the unexpected outcome. One Instagram user even joked, “This is the first time a thief is laughing when caught by the police!” Another comment read, “Well done, police!” while others praised the Thrissur police for their quick thinking.
One person even humorously quipped, “Don’t know about Kerala Police, poor guy…” showing just how much the internet loved the whole situation. What a plot twist!
