A government school teacher in Agra was captured harassing and catcalling a woman in a startling encounter, saying, “5000 mein degi.”

An really upsetting occurrence from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, has brought attention to how dangerous public places can be for women once more. Even though we live in the twenty-first century, these horrifying instances of harassment occur virtually every day. In this instance, a young woman who had just stopped outside a restaurant close to Kargil Square was harassed and catcalled by a government school teacher from Mathura named Shyamveer Singh. When he pulled out a firearm and began threatening the victim, what had begun as verbal abuse swiftly escalated into a horrifying event. The startling event happened on September 20.

Singh and another man reportedly drove up to the woman and offered her “Rs 5,000 to get into the vehicle.” Singh boldly stated, “Tumse hi keh raha hu” (I’m talking to you just), after she disregarded them. “Ye kya badtameezi hai?” the 22-year-old woman asked him, displaying incredible bravery. (What kind of wrongdoing is this?). The accused, however, grabbed her hands in plain sight and attempted to forcibly push her into the automobile rather than retreat.

The woman fiercely retaliated. She yelled for assistance, kicked him, and attracted attention from those around her with her cries. Desperate and furious, Singh threatened her, saying she had to accompany him, and pulled out his licensed revolver. Remarkably, he even aimed the rifle at a passerby who attempted to help. The woman persisted in her resistance in spite of the threats, and in a flash of sheer willpower, she was able to take the automobile keys. The teacher became even more enraged by this and tried to run her over as he was leaving the scene.

It is even more horrifying that a government school teacher, who is tasked with forming young brains, committed such a crime.
