After acknowledging in a recent conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa that the sexual harassment charge she filed against Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain producer Sanjay Kohli was untrue, actor Shilpa Shinde has herself embroiled in a new controversy. A men’s rights organisation is now calling for the actor’s arrest as a result of the revelation’s overwhelming outrage.

Shilpa Shinde is angry:

Following her comments, the Mumbai Police were urged to take action against the actor by the Delhi-based men’s rights group NCMIndia Council for Men’s Affairs. The group publicly denounced Shilpa’s admission on social media and called on the authorities to look into the situation and take the necessary legal action.

The group, which supports gender equality and men’s rights, publicly urged the Mumbai Police to address the issue on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The message said, “Dear @MumbaiPolice, please arrest Shilpa Shinde for filing a false sexual harassment case against her producer.” A video of Shilpa admitting to filing a bogus complaint against her show’s producer was included with the post.

Later, the group posted a second message to the Mumbai Police, requesting a response and an explanation of what, if any, action would be taken. “Hey @MumbaiPolice, you did not respond,” it said. Is Wednesday your weekly off day, or do we have to pay a price to get a response from you?

Shilpa’s comments were also criticised by several social media users, who questioned the consequences of making a false complaint and denounced her behaviour. “After ruining a man’s life, this self-centred woman is now crying crocodile tears. Completely unashamed. One remark said, “It will be a huge shame on her if she isn’t arrested,” while another said, “That producer should file a defamation case against her and seek compensation.”

Shilpa Shinde’s admission:

Shilpa, who rose to fame with Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, left the hit show in 2016. She accused the producers of harassment and failing to pay their dues at the time. Now, Shilpa acknowledged that her accusations of sexual harassment against the show’s producer were untrue in an interview with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their podcast.

The actor reflected on Sanjay Kohli’s predicament, saying, “Poor man, he ended up getting defamed because of it.” I want to use this platform today to declare that it was untrue. For the first time, I’m admitting this. The funds that were owed to me at the time, which we used to get every three months, were then cleared once we came to a settlement.”

“What I was going through at the moment is beyond words. “To hell with all of you,” I thought as I battled. It was really challenging for me to file such a case after a year, but I honestly thought I had no other choice. Today, I’m stating something really important. It’s difficult to lie. No matter how big or tiny, a lie is still a lie. I had promised them that I would admit it was untrue if life ever afforded me the chance,” she continued.

Shilpa went back to Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain in 2025. She disclosed that she returned to the show because of the writer and that her relationship with the creators has grown considerably over time.

Even though the issue was ultimately settled, Shilpa’s subsequent admission that the sexual harassment accusation was untrue has rekindled discussion about the case. Several stars, including Pooja Bedi and Hina Khan, have publicly denounced her for filing what she now claims was a fraudulent complaint in response to the disclosure.
