A video of YouTuber Nikhil Verma, popularly known as Chhota Chetan, being carried away in the arms of a Rapid Action Force (RAF) officer during protests in Delhi has gone viral for its unexpectedly light-hearted tone.

The moment, captured near Connaught Place on October 10, shows the officer detaining the YouTuber in a gentle manner that social media users have described as “pyaar se” (with love) and even “pookie” behaviour.

What Happened

Nikhil was among those present during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demonstrations demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Police were actively controlling the gatherings when officers began chasing protesters through the lanes of Connaught Place.

In the video shared on his Instagram, Nikhil can be seen running before an RAF official catches up with him. Instead of a rough confrontation, the officer picks him up and carries him away.

Nikhil remarks with a smile:
“Finally police ne pakad liya”
(The police have finally caught me.)

The officer joins the light-hearted exchange and asks:
“Tu bada viral ho raha hai na”
(You’re going really viral, aren’t you?)

After putting him down, the officer turns to his colleagues with a smile and says:
“Detain hogaya ye toh”
(He has been detained.)

When journalists later approached him, Nikhil summed up the experience by saying:
“Police ne bade pyaar se pakda hai”
(The police caught me very lovingly.)

In a follow-up clip, he is seen walking with Delhi Police officials, one of whom even offers him water.

Context of the Protest

The demonstrations on Saturday were organised by the CJP and student groups. Protesters raised concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and alleged irregularities in the voter-list revision process. Heavy security was deployed across Delhi, and police detained several demonstrators at various locations, including Connaught Place.

Public Reaction

The video quickly spread on social media. Users shared screenshots and commented on the officer’s calm expression and the unusually friendly nature of the detention. Many found the interaction amusing and refreshing amid the larger protest coverage.

Nikhil Verma has a substantial online following, with around 572,000 Instagram followers and more than 270,000 YouTube subscribers. This light-hearted moment has added an unexpected softer note to the ongoing demonstrations.
