I used to think that when people mentioned the ‘all-seeing eye,’ they were referring to god or a higher force.
I had no idea that, in today’s world, that amounted to social media. Especially when nothing escapes the internet’s notice, memory, and, worst of all, trolls.
For example, take Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu’s weight increase, which has now become a national worry thanks to the lifeless trolls.
But it’s not the weight increase that has to be addressed here; it’s Sandhu’s response that needs to be heard loud and clear.
Many individuals on the internet chastised the young and proud Miss Universe for gaining weight as she walked the runway at Lakme Fashion Week, looking nothing short of gorgeous.
Not that it was or ever will be their business, but the trolling was ruthless and completely uninvited.

Harnaaz Sandhu responded to the trolls and fat shamers by shedding light on not only being bullied, but also on a condition that resulted in her abrupt weight increase.

Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu must avoid talking about controversial topics like Hijab and Muslim girls. She must join Gym and reduce her weight.#MissUniverse #harnaazkaursandhu #HijabControversy pic.twitter.com/6kAmc5qLO3

“I’m one of those people who was initially bullied because she was ‘too small,’ and now they bully me because she’s big,” she claimed. My Celiac condition is kept a secret. That I’m allergic to wheat flour and a variety of other foods.”
“When you go to a village, you observe changes in your physique,” she continued. I also visited New York for the first time… It’s a completely other universe.”
“I’m someone who believes in body positivity and one of the Miss Universes for the very first time is going through it,” Harnaaz remarked as she discussed her condition. We discuss women’s empowerment, womanhood, and body positivity on the Miss Universe platform. And if I’m going through that, I’m sure there are a lot of people trolling me, which is fine because that’s their attitude, their stigmas, but there are a lot of other people who are harassed every day, whether or not they are Miss Universe. I’m empowering them by instilling in them the belief that if I’m beautiful, they are as well.”
“If you think I won Miss Universe because I’m the most beautiful girl, I’m sorry, but you’re mistaken,” Sandhu ended. I may not be the most attractive (female), but I am one of the brave and self-assured women who feels that her body, whether fat or skinny, is her own and that she loves herself. I like the changes, and you should be grateful for them because not everyone can adapt to them. So, if you’re going through a transition, rejoice. If you’re going through a difficult time in your life, be grateful because it signifies something excellent is on the way.”
