A man from Egypt broke the world record by seeing the new seven wonders of the world in the quickest amount of time. Using solely public transportation, 45-year-old Magdy Eissa spent six days, eleven hours, and fifty-two minutes touring seven famous destinations across the globe.
Guinness World Records celebrated Eissa’s accomplishment by posting a video of him on Instagram that included highlights from his trip.

The Great Wall of China was the first stop on Eissa’s itinerary, which also included visits to the Taj Mahal in Agra and the historic Petra city in Jordan. After that, he travelled to Machu Picchu in Peru, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, and the Colosseum in Rome. The ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza in Mexico marked the end of his visit.
Eissa’s amazing achievement also saw her surpass the previous record held by Jamie McDonald, an Englishman, from the previous year.

Eissa’s tour took about a year and a half to organise. Eissa told Guinness World Records, “I had to navigate a complex web of flights, trains, buses, subways and walking between transportation hubs and the Wonders.”
“The entire itinerary could be derailed by one disturbance, necessitating a return trip.”
But because he overslept during his daring excursion, Eissa missed the scheduled bus to Petra. This meant that he had to find another public bus quickly. Since the location is mostly accessible by taxi and private tour services, this was a difficult task.
Eissa also almost missed his flight to Mexico from Peru. Thankfully, once he clarified that he was trying to break a world record, airline employees reopened the check-in station.
As he celebrated his achievement, Eissa’s childhood desire was to see the new seven wonders of the world.
In addition to providing me with personal fulfilment, this endeavour gave me a little respite from the demands and tensions of everyday life. According to Magdy Eissa, “the hectic pace and problem-solving needed throughout the record attempt served as an effective outlet to vent and decompress.”
