TV series have a huge impact on our society which affects an individual’s mind and thinking process. We also take inspiration from our favourite TV shows and their characters. It’s amazing how in a short period of time we get emotionally attached to these imaginary charterers. It’s only in an individual’s hands to make or break the image. There are many TV stars, though, who either ruined their careers or struggled to bag success for a long time to come. Let’s look at it:

Aman Verma

The TV star was a big rage in the early 2000s and was one of Television’s most famous faces. He was caught red-handed in a sting operation performed by a news channel asking for sexual favours and has appeared every few times on screen since.

Siddharth Shukla

Siddharth Shukla is Mumbai-born Indian TV actor and model. In 2008 show Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na made his acting debut. His roles in Love U Zindagi, Balika Vadhu and Dil Se Dil Tak are well known to him. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss 13 participated in the reality show. Shukla made his film debut in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014 as a supporting role. It is said that the actor ruined his career because he misbehaved with many of the show’s co-stars. He is even frequently seen arguing in the Bigg boss 13.

Ragini Khanna

Ragini Khanna is an actress of Indian film and TV. She has also hosted numerous reality shows, including India’s Best Dramebaaz (2013) and Haseepur Gangs (2014). She is best known for her roles in Bhaskar Bharti, and in Sasural Genda Phool as Suhana Kishore Bajpai-Kashyap. In its fourth season in 2010, she was a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhhla Jaa. Even after working as the lead protagonist in a blockbuster TV serial Sasural Genda Phool, the actress couldn’t bag a lot of serials!

She was also engaged in a series of controversies such as when the actress reacted defensively during a Star Ya Rockstar shoot when fellow contestants expressed their preference for another contestant’s performance, Chhavi Mittal. Likewise, Welcome, Khanna and her co-contestant Nigaar Khan were seen fighting during the series, during Life OK’s culinary show. Khanna vented her frustration against the channel via her Twitter account, where she said Khanna’s mother’s name had been mispronounced in a demeaning manner in an episode of the show.

Shilpa Shinde

Shilpa Shinde is a well-known TV industry actress. In the serial Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain Shilpa played the lead of Angoori Bhabhi and gained immense popularity in no time. Nevertheless, the actress, seeing her growing popularity, requested an increase in her fees that the makers disagreed with and she finally left the show and ended her career. The actress was then seen in the Bigg Boss serial where she had been a declared winner.

Vahbbiz Dorabjee

Vahbbiz Dorabjee is an Indian model and television actress who made her television debut with the TV serial Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, playing the role of Panchi Dobriyal from 18 October 2010 to 15 December 2011. In 2013 she played the role of Alak in the Saraswatichandra television series. She won an award for Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani for a best supporting role in 2011. She was part of Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant’s television series, where she played Maggie Kant’s role. The actress wasn’t seen in many series of it even after being starred in a popular series like Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani.

Giaa Manek 

Giaa Manek is an Indian TV actress. She played a minor role in 2010 Hindi comedy film Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke before venturing into the television industry. Popular TV shows to her credit are Jeannie Aur Juju from SAB TV and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya from Star Plus. She had taken part in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaaa 5 in 2012. The actress left for reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaaa 5 to the famous TV soap opera Saath Nibhana Saathiya.

Anshuman Malhotra

Anshuman Malhotra is a popular television actor who has appeared on MTV ‘s Splitsvilla as a contestant. He worked in many television shows after this and was also seen in the Haider movie in 2014. In the & TV show, Nagarjuna-Ek Yodha, he was given the role of Arjun Shastri. The producers were pleased with his success in the film, however.

Jay Soni

Jay Soni is an actor and presenter of Indian origin. He started his career in the 2003 film Dil Maange More, with a small role. Later he played Baa Bahoo Aur Baby in Star Plus TV show. Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan, Sasural Genda Phool, and Sanskaar-Dharohar Apno Ki have appeared in television shows. An Indian singing series Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs 2011 was hosted by Soni. He and his wife took part in the Reality Show ‘ Nach Baliye 7’ which was hosted on Star Plus. He struggled to become a successful star, even after being a part of so many popular TV soap operas.

Pratyusha Banerjee

Late Pratyusha Banerjee had been an actress on Indian television. She had appeared on many TV shows and reality shows. Banerjee was first recognized in TV show Balika Vadhu in 2010. This was her first leading role in the TV series in which she won her household name “Anandi.” She had taken part in the Bigg Boss 7 (2013) reality show. She was also on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 5). She left the dance show, however, stating she was not comfortable during the dance rehearsals. The actress was said to have failed in a career even after being a part of popular shows and becoming a household name and was found hanging in her Mumbai apartment.
