Former Ranji player Amol Jichkar commits suicide: Check Out

A former Ranji Player, Amol Jichkar (38) from Nagpur in Maharashtra committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his house. Amol used to stay in the civil lines area the tragic incident came to light on Tuesday, though he hanged himself on Monday (April 24).

Sources close to him said Amol was under a massive financial burden and the monetary crunch might have prompted him to take the drastic step. A case has been registered in the local police station and the exact reason will be revealed after the detailed investigation by the cops.

The 38-year-old, Amol Jichkar was a renowned restaurateur in the city famous for oranges, Nagpur. He had recently opened a new restaurant venture at Law College Square in a partnership with a former city cricketer, Vipul Pande.

Amol Jichkar made his debut in first-class cricket in the year 1998 and represented Vidarbha between 1998 and 2002. In 6 matches, the right-arm orthodox spinner claimed seven wickets at an average of 55 and economy of 3.64. The untimely death of Amol turned into a shock for the cricketing circle of Vidarbha. Unfortunately, when the incident happened, his parents were in Pune. His death left behind his wife, son, relatives, and loved ones.
