Bacteria can be present not only in the toilet but across the building. It means that if you haven’t washed your hands for a long time, there’s probably bacteria on them too. If you use the toilet, you touch private parts which are especially unsafe for microbes. And it is much more important to wash your hands before going to the toilet than afterwards

3 We flush the toilet with our fingertips.

The toilet is probably the dirtiest spot in the apartment. Observations indicate that even 90 minutes after a wash, hundreds of droplets with bacteria are still on the water. So try flushing the toilet not with your fingers, but with your knuckle or your finger’s back.
