Amitabh Bachchan is popularly known as Big b of Bollywood. He has wonderful acting skills.
He still does his acting with utmost perfection. In his younger days, he was known as the “Angry Young Man” as he has done a lot of films in the role of an angry, young and brave man.
He is known as a superstar in the seventies and eighties, and after that, he became more selective and is still doing a lot of acting in Bollywood movies. He has provided a lot of blockbusters in Bollywood and his film Sholay is just one of them. He has a tall figure and a unique voice, which sets him apart from his counterparts in the industry.
As per some recent reports, for eight years period, the megastar was not aware of the fact that he was suffering from Tuberculosis.
He revealed that he does not mind if somebody calls him as a Tuberculosis survivor.
Speaking to the media, Amitabh Bachchan also urged everyone to spread the awareness about the need for regular checkups to diagnose the disease at its earlier stage.
He always quotes his example every time and tries to spread the idea of detecting this disease at the initial stage itself. He also said that he doesn’t feel shy about sharing his condition publicly.
Amitabh Bachchan said that he is a Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B survivor, and due to the bad blood infusion, 75 percent of his liver is gone. But as he was able to detect it after 20 years, he is still able to survive.
“I keep quoting my example all the time and try and propagate the idea of getting yourself detected, and I don’t mind saying this publicly I am a tuberculosis survivor, Hepatitis B survivor… Bad blood infusion went in, and 75 percent of my liver is gone, but because I was able to detect it even after 20 years when 75 percent of my liver is gone. I am still surviving on 25 percent,” said Big B.
Amitabh Bachchan also works with several health campaigns such as Polio, Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis, and diabetes and also asked everyone to test themselves and get diagnosed as early as possible.
