Isha Koppikar recently talked about a difficult scene from her early career in which she was slapped—not just once, but fourteen times. Yes, you read correctly. You ask, who slapped her? Nagarjuna, that’s who. It all took place while Chandralekha, Isha’s second movie, was being filmed. Her first leading role in Telugu cinema was in the film, which was directed by Krishna Vamsi.

As a novice actor, Isha Koppikar was eager to give it her all. “Nagarjuna slapped me.” She told Hindi Rush, “I was a totally dedicated actor that I wanted to perform in a real, method way.”

The actress revealed that she was struggling to convey rage in a scenario where she had to do so. She then made an odd request: “I couldn’t feel it when he (Nagarjuna) was slapping me.” I told him, “Nag, you really slapped me,” because this was my second movie. “Are you sure?” he said. No, I am unable to. “I want that feeling,” I said. Right now, I don’t feel it. He gave me a gentle slap as a result.

Priyadarshan’s original Malayalam film of the same name was remade as Chandralekha. Ramya Krishnan, Murali Mohan, Chandra Mohan, Giri Babu, and Tanikella Bharani all played significant roles in the movie.

Returning to Isha Koppikar, she is well-known for her roles in films such as Salaam-e-Ishq, Don, and LOC Kargil. The actress last appeared in the sci-fi film Ayalaan in 2024, where she costarred with Rakul Preet Singh and Sivakarthikeyan. Additionally involved in the project were David Broughton-Davies, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, Bhanupriya, and Sharad Kelkar.
