Mumbai Indians (MI) paid Rs 30 lakh for Arjun Tendulkar at the Indian Premier League 2022 (IPL 2022) super auction in Bengaluru on Sunday. Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, was signed by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 20 lakh in 2021. After MI’s initial bid of Rs 20 lakh, Arjun drew two bidders, with Gujarat Titans bidding for his services for Rs 25 lakh. However, MI countered with a bid of Rs 30 lakh, which was sufficient to secure the services of the 22-year-old player.
Apart from Arjun, MI made numerous purchases over the course of the two-day event. The five-time IPL Champions spent more than Rs 10 crore in an auction for the first time in history, re-signing Ishan Kishan for Rs 15.25 crore, making him the most expensive pick of day 1.
Arjun may feel under pressure if he has the opportunity to play against some of the finest players in the world, but experience is something that will undoubtedly benefit him in the future. Arjun is currently without an IPL cap, however he has played two T20s for the Mumbai state team and is also a member of the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team.

Sara Tendulkar also posted a story for brother Arjun.

In terms of pacers, MI have recruited England fast-bowler Jofra Archer, despite the fact that he has been confirmed to miss this season’s tournamnet and Mumbai are unable to replace him. After a battle with Rajasthan Royals to re-sign their bowler who was with them during the 2020 IPL, Mumbai Indians spent Rs 8 crore to bring him in.
