Sonakshi Sinha was recently the target of criticism from Mukesh Khanna, who also made fun of her father, famous actor Shatrughan Sinha. Poet Vishwas Kumar entered the debate and fuelled the controversy with subtle criticism of Shatrughan and Sonakshi. However, once pictures of Vishwas Kumar’s daughter dressed in western attire went viral and sparked intense discussion, the attention quickly turned.
After making an unwarranted jab at Shatrughan and Sonakshi Sinha, Kumar Vishwas causes trouble.

Kumar Vishwas caused a stir at a recent poetry gathering in Meerut with his subtly offensive remarks directed at renowned actor Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter Sonakshi Sinha. He did not use names, but it was fairly obvious to whom he was speaking.
In the event, Vishwas remarked,
“Teach your children about the Ramayana. Otherwise, while your house may be named ‘Ramayana,’ someone else might take away your household’s ‘Lakshmi.’”
The remark was interpreted as a direct jab at Sonakshi, who has been ridiculed by Mukesh Khanna, also known as Shaktimaan, for her ignorance of Indian epics, and her father, Shatrughan.
By specifically referring to Shatrughan Sinha’s Mumbai residence, “Ramayana,” Kumar Vishwas’ comments went one step further. Sonakshi Sinha’s interfaith marriage to Zaheer Iqbal was subtly mentioned in his remarks, which gave them a contentious undertone. This sparked outrage right away, with many people accusing Vishwas of making offensive and personal comments that went too far.

Vishwas’ remark quickly became a topic of conversation, with many people accusing him of making an unwarranted joke about the Sinha family. When pictures of Kumar Vishwas’ own daughters wearing western attire began to circulate online, the uproar intensified. Everyone’s attention has been drawn to the contentious discussion that resulted on social media.
Following Kumar Vishwas’ contentious comments, pictures of his daughters started to circulate:
His own family came under public attention shortly after Kumar Vishwas made subtle remarks against Shatrughan Sinha and his daughter Sonakshi during a poetry gathering in Meerut.
Many criticised Vishwas’ comments as needless and offensive as he urged adults to teach their kids about the Ramayana and subtly connected it to home values. Ironically, though, things took a turn for the worst when images of his daughters, Kuhu and Agrata Sharmma, started making the rounds online, igniting discussions about his views on traditional values.

According to reports, the images in question were taken from an Instagram post that Agrata, Vishwas’ older daughter, shared on December 23, 2024. Agrata and Kuhu were spotted in glitzy attire during their parents’ wedding anniversary party, which was documented in the photos.
Both wore gowns with plunging necklines and small slits. Social media was enraged by the stark contrast between Vishwas’ public remarks and his daughters’ contemporary clothing.

Vishwas was accused of hypocrisy by his detractors, who questioned how he could advocate for ancient values while his own family adopted modern ways of living.

Speaking about his daughters’ academic backgrounds, it has been reported that Kuhu earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from King’s College London, while Agrata attended Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom. This highlights their progressive choices and worldwide upbringing.
Supriya Shrinate, a Congresswoman, criticises Kumar Vishwas for his remarks against women:
Supriya Shrinate, a Congress leader, harshly condemned Kumar Vishwas’ comments, describing them as “cheap and lewd.” She denounced his statement on Twitter. She also questioned the underlying extremely backward attitude.

Shrinate posted a lengthy tweet that emphasised,
“Is a girl some kind of thing that someone can take away somewhere? Till when will people like you keep considering a woman as the property of her father first and then of her husband?”
“Neither Shatrughan Sinha ji nor his successful daughter Sonakshi needs your certificate, but your comment on a girl 17 years younger than you definitely exposes your narrow thinking.”
“If you had really studied the Ramayana, you would have definitely understood love. You have a great desire to become a Ram Katha narrator but you do not have even an iota of the decency and dignity of Lord Rama.”
