Not every pattern is equally strong. Some trendy items look very weird and the reason they were able to become so famous isn’t very obvious. They are so strange even that they can not be paired with regular clothing and not feel like a weirdo. That’s why people get really happy when those patterns are finally gone.
1. Embroidered clothes
Everywhere there were some years ago embroidered clothes: t-shirts, shorts, boots, coats, ties, and so on. But it’s time to stop their wearing. Today’s fashion is about simplicity — without any decorative elements, the right jeans and a white T-shirt look much better.
2. Slip dress
Only a while ago, people believed that slip dresses help to create a very simple feminine, elegant, and romantic look. Silk tops and slip dresses around the world were truly popular. Yet they were everywhere lately and people started getting sick of them. Slip dresses are expected to return to where they belong in 2020—in the bedroom. You may wear a linen dress if you want to wear something light and comfortable.
3. Ugly sneakers
The shoes that make feet look bigger in many sizes got trendier and then lost their appeal. They’re tall, with large soles, thick and multicoloured laces, bright pieces, and some are even painted with paint — designers made those hideous shoes as ridiculous as possible. Even though girls used to wear these sneakers everywhere and with everything — jeans, skirts, and dresses, they now have to admit they’re not as popular or easy to wear.
This year, you should pay attention to more simple, sporty shoes or slip-on shoes. And the people who really love ugly sneakers can try wearing sock sneakers.
Some people treat crocs like a trendy thing and others love those shoes really. They are easy and relaxed and they are loved by both kids and adults.
In fact, however, crocs can wreck any trendy look. There’s one reason they’ve been dubbed the ugliest shoes. However, some doctors say you can’t wear them for too long — they don’t adequately protect the foot, which may lead to accidents.
5. Jean-like leggings
A little while ago, a lot of girls felt they needed to have leggings that looked like jeans in their wardrobes. We soon discovered however that this piece of clothing looks cheap and disgusting because it’s too tight and typically exposes all the body’s flaws. So, even basic jeans are a much better option.
6. Acid-coloured clothes
You don’t just need to wear neon colours. Bright colours, if they look real, will give your look a new feel. You should only use one piece of neon clothing in your whole look though. You can have a bright top on your thighs, for example, with a neutral colour.
7. Pretentious nail designs
Nail styles have patterns too. And the natural, the stronger today. Nail extensions and super-long natural nails are a thing of the past now with very bright colours, odd designs, rhinestones, stickers and other decorative elements. Minimalist and simple colours are now more common. And about the thickness — the fingertips will be just a little above the fingers.
8. Fluffy sandals
When fluffy sandals just became famous, celebrities began wearing them everywhere, including with their everyday clothes, suits and dresses. These sandals are rather divisive: some people think they should be worn anywhere and look nice at something, while others think they’re very odd while unattractive. Ok, if you want to be fashionable today, you probably should put those shoes away for a long time.
9. Corset belt
The initially bold and unique accessory became so popular at some stage that it lost all its charm: corset belts could be seen on anyone. They’ve been wearing tops, and even down jackets. It’s easier to buy different belts in next season.
10. Knit dress
This comfy piece of clothing no longer looks new. Those dresses may also add extra pounds to your look. Slim-fit and bulky skirts are not the ideal choices, either. Models made of heavy knitwear are easier to wear.
11. Transparent booties
It is one of the patterns to watch but it’s difficult to try. This trend was popular among the most expensive celebrities who wanted to look different when it was new but these shoes are not really good for everyday life. It’s difficult to wear anything that hasn’t got ventilation for many hours.
A journalist did an experiment and went through her experience of wearing transparent booties, “for the first try, my transparent booties didn’t glide in. Or the latter or sixth. See, due to fit, you can’t wear boots, because of the rough plastic sticks to the feet. And with the thickest body butter, I could find, I had to lube my feet up. Those shoes only then slipped into place.
12. Cropped sweaters
Those sweaters can only be worn by girls with beautiful bodies. It is good news that cropped sweaters are no longer fashionable, as their utility is very minimal. When it’s cold you can just wear a jumper, but the belly is open, which means you won’t feel comfortable in it.
