A local official told news agency AFP on Saturday that an Indonesian woman who had been reported missing was discovered dead inside the stomach of a snake in central Indonesia after the snake had swallowed her whole.

Farida, 45, was discovered inside the reticulated python on Friday by her husband and the people of Kalempang village in the province of South Sulawesi.

The python was about five metres (16 feet) long.

On Thursday night, she vanished and never showed up at her house. A search operation was then initiated, according to village chief Suardi Rosi, who spoke to AFP.

Her spouse became concerned when he discovered her possessions. Then the villagers looked around. Before long, they saw a large-bellied python,” Suardi claimed.

“They decided to make incisions in the python’s abdomen. When they did, Farida’s head was evident right away,” he continued.

Inside the python’s stomach, her entire wardrobe was discovered.

Such incidents are uncommon, however in Indonesia, many people have recently died after being completely engulfed by pythons.

Residents of Southeast Sulawesi’s Tinanggea region this year killed an eight-meter python that was choking and suffocating a village farmer.

In the Southeast Sulawesi village of Muna, a 54-year-old woman was found dead inside a seven-meter python in 2018.

Additionally, a West Sulawesi farmer went missing the year before, only to be discovered devoured alive by a four-meter python on a palm oil plantation.
