He was offered to play Ravi Kishan’s role in the Bollywood film Luck, but he declined.
Agreed to star in the film but had to back out because Ram Gopal didn’t want any distractions during the filming of Satya.
He was asked for a part in the movie, but it didn’t work out.
Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya
Almost got a part in the film, but had a falling out with Ram Gopal Verma and had to leave.
After a feud with Anurag over the film Satya, Anurag cast Kay Kay Menon in the lead role.
I was approached for a supporting role in the film as Chunni Babu. The actor, however, declined the offer because he did not want to be second fiddle or a supporting character in a film. Jackie Shroff was cast in the part.
Rang De Basanti
Manoj was offered the lead role in Aamir Khan’s classic film Rang De Basanti, and Siddharth was offered the role of Vivek Oberoi. The picture, however, was put on hold after the original producers pulled out.
Signed the film, but was later replaced by Javed Jeffery, the actor.
Manoj Bajpayee was keen to play Langda Tyagi in the film. However, because of budgetary constraints, Vishal did not sign him.
Paan Singh Tomar
Wanted to play the lead in the film, but the director, Tigmanshu Dhulia, refused to cast him, and the role went to Irfan Khan, who died in the film.
I was contacted for the part and accepted it. However, he then pulled out since he didn’t want to be cast in such a little position. Later, Boman Irani was cast in the role.
Rejected the major part in the movie.
The actor was contacted about playing Abbas Yusuf in the film. However, Abhimanyu Singh, an actor, took his place.
Ek Se Badhkar Ek
Ek Se Badhkar is a Hindi film directed by Ek Se Badhkar Ek: He didn’t sign up for the position since he was offered a lower pay for it. Shekhar Suman was later cast in the role.
In a Hollywood film, I felt that Randeep’s character was more focused than his own and walked outpost, for which Pankaj Tripathi was cast.
Darna Mana Hai
In opposition to Sanjay Kapoor’s performance.
Surprisingly, the actor was requested to portray a negative part opposite Aamir Khan in the film Dangal. However, he declined to play a negative role in the film, therefore it was given to Girish Kulkarni.
The film’s original star cast reportedly included Manoj Kumar, but due to a feud with Ram Gopal Varma, Ajay Devgn was selected in the lead part.

In 1999, Manoj Bajapayee starred alongside Rani Mukherjee in the film Dharti, which was never released.
Manoj featured in the N.S. International film Paanchi, which was shelved in 2001. Apart from Manoj, this film was directed by Parto Ghosh and starred Mahima Chaudhry, Shamita Shetty, Ehsan Khan, and others.
The actor was a part of Ajay Devgn Productions’ cancelled Barf film in 2000-2001. This film, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, featured the lovely actress Sushmita Sen.
The actor appeared in the shelved film Maati, which was centred on the lives of Dalits and Thakurs, in 1999–2000. Actors Fardeen Khan and Mahima Chaudhary also appeared in this Neeraj Pathak flick.
In 2002, he featured alongside Prem Nath’s granddaughter, Akanksha Malhotra, in a Padmalaya Productions shelved film.
This long-abandoned project now has a name that is enough to pique your interest! Manoj was cast in the cancelled film Syaah — A Walk on the Dark Side, alongside Bipasha Basu. If it hadn’t been shelved, it would have been a truly wonderful effort.
In 1999, the actor had the opportunity to star alongside his wife in Hansal Mehta’s cancelled film Netwa. The guys of Bihar who dance in drag were the inspiration for the film.
The actor played with Diana Hayden, Miss World 1997, in the shelved Indo/French film “All Alone,” which was shelved due to conflicts with the producer. Nigar Khan and Bikram Saluja co-star. Ritesh Batra was set to helm the film, which was based on Mauritius’s 1968 independence.
He made his acting debut in Mehul Kumar’s cancelled film ” Azaadi” in 2004. I played Sam in Rahul Roy’s cancelled remake. When the filmmaker learned that Harry Baweja was also trying his hand at replicating the same film with the same heroine, he shelved the project.

Monoj appeared alongside Kareena Kapoor in the film Ek Anokhi Prem Kahani. In the film, he was intended to play a blind man, but he was replaced by actor Sanjay Dutt. The project was later cancelled in 2002.
Starred in the Indian-Canadian film “Indigo,” which was shelved in 2002. Sarah Polley also appears in the film. Suresh Natrajan, a Toronto-based director, directed the film. The film was supposed to be shot in Toronto and Kerala. The movie was supposed to be about a Mohiniyattam dancing student from America who falls in love with a Hindu priest.
Bitter Rain is another of the actor’s stalled projects.
