As the saying goes, love finds you in the most unexpected places, and the Embley-Nielson family’s love tale is one to remember. Many individuals around the world are inspired by a simple’meet-and-greet’ to fully accepting a mixed-orientation marriage.
When we come across uncommon lovey-dovey stories, we often become enamoured, and we’d want to share this compassionate one with you.
It was love at first sight

Matthew Nielson is a selfless and passionate gay father who is married to Brynn Embley. They have two beautiful kids, Guinevere and Amandine.
It all started when these two spotted each other at a social gathering – Matthew’s soulful smile had taken Brynn off her feet. They had an instant connection and shared common interests. They both expressed a love of reading and Harry Potter, as well as the same viewpoint on social concerns.

After a few exciting dates and exciting escapades, Matthew felt it was time to tell Brynn he was gay. Surprisingly, Brynn didn’t mind – in fact, she was overjoyed that he chose to spend time with her, regardless of his sexual orientation. That’s how we knew it was genuine love!
Although some individuals were outraged and wounded when they learned about their mixed-gender relationship, friends and family acknowledged their love and happiness for each other. People were motivated by it, and they even thanked them for the validation.
“Talking about sexuality is an important and necessary part of life; it is a part of who we are.”

There had been ups and downs, heartbreaks and closures, but their love was always present and their spark never faded. After barely a few months together, these two lovebirds chose to marry in Utah and spend their honeymoon simply enjoying each other’s company!

There was considerable doubt in their relationship because of their beliefs and perspectives on social matters. They began to wonder if their marriage would work in terms of closeness and physical attraction. However, there was obviously synergy in other areas, such as their common interests in travel and books.

“It appears that a mutual obsession with reading and travel may do a lot for a relationship.”

Every marriage has flaws. Some of their friends have more problems than others, but the most important thing to remember is that love and respect conquer all, and as long as this aspect is there, anything can be won, even the most unusual relationship of all!
“The most loving thing Matthew has ever said me is that, out of all the persons he has ever known, he never gets weary of me – that type of compatibility doesn’t happen every day.”

This inspiring pair learnt a lot about each other and the LGBTQIA+ community, so they chose to share their knowledge with the rest of the world by creating an Instagram account and going public. What a lovely way to highlight acceptance!
“We’re overjoyed that our message is allowing others to experience the affirmation and affection they’ve been lacking.”
Peace, kindness, and acceptance are all manifestations of love.

The family is now residing in Michigan with their two adorable girls. They want to continue sharing their love with the rest of the world in the hopes of giving everyone peace and equality.
What are your thoughts on a mixed-gender marriage? Could you imagine yourself in one?
