Emraan Hashmi made his acting debut in the 2003 film Footpath, in which he played a supporting role alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Bipasha Basu. However, it was his 2004 film Murder that earned him not only critical acclaim but also the moniker of “serial kisser.”

On the shooting of his 2016 film Azhar, a biography on legendary Indian batsman Mohammad Azharuddin, something similar happened.
Nargis Fakhri and Emraan Hashmi can be seen discussing about filming the song Bol Do Na Zara in the freezing cold weather during the making of the song.
Nargis also discusses the song’s various kissing sequences with Emraan. She claims she had to kiss him five times and considered asking a fee for it.
Not only that, but she also mentioned how uncomfortable it was for her to kiss Emraan, who was sporting a fake moustache as part of his persona.
“I had to kiss that boy like five times,” she explained. I was also going to start charging extra. ‘Hell no, this ain’t in my contract,’ I exclaimed. I know he was pleased, even if he pretended to be surprised, as if to say, ‘Oh my god, I had no idea this was going to happen.’ He is a deceiver. He was enthralled.”
The making-of film then shows a kissing sequence between the two, and even when the director yells “Cut,” Nargis grabs Emraan even tighter and continues the kiss, leaving him speechless for a time while the staff members around them chuckle.

During the film’s promotion, the actress also discussed her kissing moments with Emraan.
“After I signed the contract, I found out he (Emraan Hashmi) was known as the serial kisser,” she told Indian Express. We were filming for the song “Bol Do Na Zara,” which translates to “Say what I want to say.” I was thinking to myself, “How can I say anything when my lips are constantly attached to his?” (Emraan). What am I supposed to say? What am I supposed to say? There were a lot of retakes. I assumed it was a joke and that they were playing a practical joke on me, so I told them I would charge them more.”
