One Pakistani spectator at the Sunday, June 9, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York left empty-handed after Pakistan was defeated by India by six runs. The fan disclosed that to see the highly anticipated match in the T20 World Cup 2024, he sold his tractor for US$3,000. Pakistan was unable to meet its target of 120 runs in a low-scoring thriller of a match. For the majority of the match, Pakistan was in the lead, but in the last overs of their run-chase, they lost it.
Naseem Shah hit a couple of fours off Arshdeep Singh with 18 runs needed in the last over, but his efforts were unable to keep Pakistan’s innings alive. After hitting 31 runs off 44 balls, Mohammad Rizwan was met with criticism when he gave his wicket to Jasprit Bumrah. The spectator, who had experienced the exhilarating trip in New York, expressed his disappointment at Babar Azam’s team’s defeat.
“I sold my tractor for $3000 to watch the India vs Pakistan match, in which we lost. I was very disappointed,” the Pakistani fan told ANI.
“My heart belongs to Surya.”
The Pakistani fan was also in New York on Wednesday to watch India play the United States (USA). He gave Suryakumar Yadav a lot of credit for his unbeaten fifty runs in 49 balls, which enabled India to chase down 111 and win the game by seven wickets.
