Pankaj Tripathi is unquestionably one of the most undervalued actors in the Hindi cinema business. His acting career began with a small role in Run, but the self-made star swiftly gained notoriety for his ‘desi’ line delivery, humble demeanour, and sincere performances.
He finally received what he deserved as a result of his part in the Mirzapur web series. He has established himself as a household name, and his participation in any endeavour will confirm his success.
A terrific actor like Pankaj Tripathi is that rare gem that serves as a reminder that life is about much more than fame and money in a sector that exudes arrogance and is all about glitter and luxury. He is as honest with his work as he is anchored in his beginnings.
The renowned filmmaker Abhiroop Basu, who collaborated with Pankaj Tripathi on one of his well-known films, Laali, had the same opinions.
Nothing less than Pankaj Tripathi’s life’s simple fact has been revealed by him about him. He posted an emotional letter to Pankaj Tripathi on his Facebook page. He included a picture of Pankaj Tripathi in his article and also discussed how Pankaj is unique from other performers in the business. He noted:
“At the peak of his career, Pankaj Tripathi shot Laali in Calcutta for three days in the absence of any vanity van or spot boys specially dedicated to him or any special kind of arrangement or luxury we usually associate with stars.”
Basu continued, “Despite being the cornerstone of the entire movie and treating everyone as he does to himself, Pankaj Tripathi didn’t even think of himself as a special one.
“He ate the food we ate, he went back to his hotel when we did. If a picture could speak a thousand words, here you go.. just an actor sitting on a wooden chair out on the open streets, with his bottle of water.. nonchalantly speaking over the phone, waiting for the next shot.”
In his piece, Basu goes into more detail on how meeting Pankaj Tripathi transformed his life. He noted:
“No two ways about it, working with him was a life changing experience for we got a chance to learn way beyond the craft.. we learnt about life and how to keep our feet rooted to the ground always.. and that will teach you about films way more than any film school ever can.”
The post was shared on June 23rd, and since then, it has received a lot of reactions and gone popular on social media. More than 3,000 people have already liked and shared it. While the majority of those who expressed their gratitude left comments on the page, some also shared their own experiences with Pankaj Tripathi.
Pankaj Tripathi was referred to as a “Man of culture” by one user and a “Pure talent” by another.
The actor keeps everything near to him in order to maintain his humility despite his celebrity status. Similar to a Bollywood film, his journey to stardom was paved with drama, dreams, rejection, and hope.
Although we cannot say that he is perfect, if we consider his journey, we can state with certainty that he is far superior to those actors who merely perform in order to make a lot of money. What sets him apart from others is his passion for performing.
