Selena Gomez, who replaced Kylie Jenner as the woman with the most Instagram followers, has said she is taking a sabbatical from social media.

I’m too old for this, the singer and former Disney star who surpassed Jenner by gaining 382 million followers told her fans.

The star from The Only Murders In The Building said during a live TikTok video that she would conduct a little app detox.

“This is kind of stupid, so I’m going to take a break from social media,” “She spoke.

“I’m too old for this at 30. But I’ll see you guys as soon as possible since I love you all very much.

Just taking a break from everything, I said.

In spite of stories claiming otherwise, Gomez’s Instagram and TikTok were back up on Friday morning.

Her remarks come after numerous people started to wonder whether there was animosity between her and Hailey Bieber when a video appeared on TikTok again.

The model sticks out her tongue and rolls her eyes as Method Man, who is introducing Bieber on stage, previews a “one-on-one rap battle packed with the meanest songs about a celebrity since Taylor Swift’s last album.”

The caption of the video claims that the user intended to portray Hailey as a “mean girl.”

“So sorry, my closest friend is and continues to be one of the greatest in the game,” Gomez, a devoted Swift friend, said in response to the video in the comments section.

The actress has previously mentioned giving up social media, even though her staff manage the majority of her accounts.

The only app she has on her phone is TikTok since she finds it to be a little less antagonistic, she previously admitted to Vanity Fair. Social media has many positive aspects, including the opportunity to interact with fans and learn about their lives.

“But generally [for me now] that gets filtered through. I came up with a plan. I send my assistant everything I do, and she posts them. My team will compile a few comments that are encouraging in terms of feedback.

Her TikTok account has been deleted since she made her declaration and is no longer accessible.
