On Friday, February 3, Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha and Pakistan’s top bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi were united in marriage in a lavish ceremony. Several Pakistani cricket players, including captain Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shadab Khan, attended the wedding in Karachi.
Ansha, Shahid’s second-born daughter, and Shaheen got engaged last year. According to rumours, the 22-year-old must soon compete for the Lahore Qalanders in Pakistan Super League Season 8, and additional ceremonies may take place following the event. Shaheen can be seen engaging in a ritual in a video that his PSL team shared.
Shaheen Afridi, the great pacer for the Pakistan cricket team, wed Shahid Afridi’s daughter Ansha on Friday in a lavish ceremony at a Karachi mosque, according to GeoNews. Following the Nikah, a reception was held, and many famous cricketers, including Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Shadab Khan, attended. Two years ago, Shaheen and Ansha became engaged.
In an exclusive interview on Geo News’ show “Aik Din Geo Kai Sath”, Shaheen revealed that it was his wish to marry Afridi’s daughter.
“It was my wish and Alhamdulillah [thanks to Allah Almighty] it is fulfilled now,” Shaheen had confessed during the interview.
On being asked whether Ansha felt jealous about Shaheen’s female fans, he said: “I am not sure, maybe she feels something like that.”
In the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which gets underway on February 13, Shaheen will make a comeback. The Lahore Qalandars, led by Shaheen, will square off against Multan Sultans in the opening game of the competition. Shaheen contributed significantly with both the ball and the bat in the previous PSL season, helping Lahore Qalandars win the league championship for the first time.
