According to a Bloomberg story, Harish Ahuja, the father-in-law of Sonam Kapoor, paid £21 million, or approximately Rs 231.47 crore, for a house in the Notting Hill neighbourhood of London. Among the largest home transactions in the UK this year is this one. After it is redeveloped, Sonam and her husband, Anand Ahuja, intend to live on a portion of the land.

According to the same report, Harish purchased the eight-story residential convent in July. The 20,000-square-foot property is close to Kensington Gardens and offers ample room. The building was “previously owned by a UK registered charity and religious order,” according to the report. Sonam and Anand will occupy a portion of the land for their home, but another

2018 saw Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tie the knot following years of courtship. In August 2022, their son Vayu was welcomed. Since getting married, Sonam has been residing in London on a part-time basis. She spends a significant portion of her year in Mumbai as well. The actor recently gave Architectural Digest India a tour of her “maximalist” Mumbai home and revealed that, although she was originally opposed to the idea of leaving Notting Hill for Mumbai, “the double-height ceilings and the sweep of the lateral space began to seduce me.” Silently, I enjoyed the thought of making a show out of nothing at all.

Sonam stated that her Mumbai home “represents a new chapter for me, as a woman, a collector—and a mother.” She lives there with her son Vayu and husband Anand. “I had been longing for a base in which to curate all the things I have collected while filming in far-flung parts of India over the years,” the actress continued. Nothing will stop me from bringing something home if I adore it.

Sonam’s father-in-law’s house is more expensive than Shah Rukh’s house

It is noteworthy that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s home, “Mannat,” is less expensive than Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s new residence. Media reports state that Sonam’s new home is valued at Rs 226 crore, while Shahrukh’s “Mannat” is valued at Rs 200 crore.
