In a major development in the suicide case of Sushant Singh Rajput, the father of the late actor has filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and five other persons for suicide abetment and a string of other charges. A four-member team has reached Mumbai and is discussing the case of Sushant with Mumbai Police, according to the latest sources. Bihar Police asked Mumbai Police for female constables to help in the investigation.

Interestingly, this development came weeks after Rhea Chakraborty called for a CBI investigation into the death of Sushant, tagging Union Home Minister Amit Shah in an Instagram posting.

Before claiming to have received rape and death threats over Sushant ‘s death on social media, the Bollywood actress explained that she “wanted only to understand what prompted him to take the step.”

Police have recorded statements of more than 40 people in the investigation so far including film critic Rajeev Masand, director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, filmmakers Aditya Chopra and Mahesh Bhatt.

Rajput’s cook Neeraj Singh, domestic help Keshav Bachner, manager Deepesh Sawant, creative manager Siddharth Ramnathmurti Pithani, sisters Neetu and Meetu Singh are among others whose statements were recorded at the Bandra police station in the case.

Their statement was also reported by television actor Mahesh Shetty, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, business manager Shruti Modi, PR manager Ankita Tehlani, actor Rhea Chakraborty, two former Yash Raj Films employees among others.

As per Singh Sr., Rhea’s father who is a doctor was monitoring Sushant’s health in the past few months and never disclosed what medicines were being given to the actor. The Patna resident alleged that the Chakrabortys succeeded in distancing Sushant from his family.

Singh Sr. reportedly met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and impressed upon him the necessity of having a parallel and independent investigation conducted into his son’s death. And IG level officer of the Patna Police has been appointed to now overlook Sushant’s case.

A team of four policemen from Patna, including two inspectors and two sub-inspectors, will meet with their counterparts from Mumbai and take all documentation relating to the actor being used in his death investigation.
