People worldwide are observing a growing tendency towards white-collar corporate jobs as India strives for economic and digital growth. In the corporate sector, companies like Mahindra, TCS, and Infosys are among the top employers. Inflation and growing real estate costs produced years of stagnant growth, despite the fact that these jobs appear more practical and offer numerous perks. Young professionals’ mental health can be severely harmed by juggling work responsibilities while coping with urban isolation, long hours, employment uncertainty, and unstable finances.

Internal procedures usually lack empathy, despite the fact that company social media may emphasise perks like team lunches and work-from-home options. A recent instance of this occurred when a TCS employee went viral for sleeping outside the workplace. His tale went viral, and the firm responded as well.

His company also responded to the accusations made against them as Sourabh and his narrative went widespread on social media. According to corporate rules, Sourabh More’s salary payment was temporarily suspended after he allegedly took a “unauthorised” leave of absence from work, TCS told the Hindustan Times.

It further said that the employee has not come back to the organisation to ask to be reinstated. TCS has reportedly also provided him all the assistance and accommodations he requires in order to resolve the issue in a fair and cordial manner. According to a TCS representative,

What was the response of netizens to the entire situation?

Netizens are still discussing this, but based on TCS’s official statement, it appears that things have cooled down between Sourabh and them. Many internet users supported Sourabh, arguing that it is cruel to stop paying him, while others were appalled by his careless and unethical conduct at work.

Check out a some of the responses:

This episode is not the first of its sort, however. Such situations occur on a daily basis. But for a variety of reasons, not every incidence receives this kind of attention. In certain instances, the company was obvious, but in others, the employee was obviously at blame.

I believe there is a combination of both in this example. We all know that this is not how business operations operate, so while the corporation should not have abruptly stopped paying any employee, the employee should have calmly explained to the employer why he needed to take time off and why it was important. Every location has its own set of guidelines.
