Especially in the 1990s, the epithet “skinny” was frequently used to characterise models. This look appears to be returning “in,” in contrast to the voluptuous, curvy body type of the Kardashian era. But despite this, these plus-sized models continue to show off their curves.
Instead, they’re getting artistic and mimicking the appearances of the leaner superstars. As Stella Williams puts it, “We have to aspire to get more body representation in different areas.”
