10 Things You’d Better Stop Doing Before a Doctor Visit


According to a report, more than 30 per cent of misdiagnoses result in serious injury or death, and the explanation for some of them is the negligence of patients. And when you go to the doctor, it’s important to note that the test standard depends not just on the specialist but also on you.

1 Before visiting the Dermatologist, do not get a mani-pedi.

The dermatologists are treating over 3,000 diseases. The doctor will examine not only your skin but also your nails during a thorough inspection. There are normally several fungal infections, after all. The natural condition of your nails is very necessary for a doctor to see.

5. Don’t eat red food before getting a colonoscopy.

Natural red food will colour your colon and affect the study outcome. Among the things you can avoid are beets, cranberries, red sweets, red frosting, red liqueur, tomatoes and tomato sauce at least one week before colonoscopy.

You should always note that this does not mean they will eat items of a different colour before going to the doctor. You will only eat clear, liquid foods the day before the medical procedure.

6. Don’t eat a salty meal before having a blood pressure test.

The American Heart Association recommends that no more than 2,300 milligrams of salt be eaten per day. It leads to a rise in blood pressure and other adverse effects.
So, you shouldn’t eat fast snacks, nuts, beans, or other things that contain a lot of salt before the study. Otherwise, results can be falsely high.

7 . When taking a blood test, do not take drugs.

A few days before the test, you will continue to take medications for a more reliable outcome so that your blood has time to cleanse and is not affected by any external factors.
As for the pills prescribed for mandatory everyday use, doctors usually suggest they don’t take them in the morning before blood is administered and only take them right after the examination. Although it is best to discuss this matter with the professional in advance in every particular case.

8. Don’t change the timetable daily.

10 Don’t browse the internet before an ophthalmologist comes.

Constant eye-strain can indicate severe issues and needs special attention. Yet this condition can also occur temporarily as a result of prolonged gadget use. Your sight can get worse than it really is for many hours before your eyes rest. If you go to the ophthalmologist for a work or driving school medical certificate, you need to show your best performance. Here is a list of symptoms which can help suggest eye tension. If you have them, you can delay the doctor’s visit for a while, so that you get a precise test.
