Natalia Ivanova, a Russian photographer, journalist, and producer, wanted to show the world the ethnic diversity of humanity by creating the large-scale project The Ethnic Origins Of Beauty. Its heroines were women from various ethnic groups. They posed for portraits and gave interviews in which they discussed their cultures, customs, and people.
These videos would later be used in a documentary series, with each episode concentrating on a different ethnic group.
The portraits in The Ethnic Origins Of Beauty impressed us with their strength and depth of meaning. We’d like you to take a look at some of the project’s pictures.
