A passenger’s voyage on the Vande Bharat train took a turn for the worse when he discovered insects in the sambhar that was being served.

After pictures of the tainted food were posted on social media, the incident, which happened on the Tirunelveli to Chennai route, swiftly provoked outrage.

Several customers were horrified by the quality of the premium service’s food after watching the footage of black insects floating in the sambhar.

When Congress MP Manickam Tagore posted the video and raised concerns about the cleanliness of Vande Bharat trains, the situation became more heated.

“Dear @AshwiniVaishnaw ji, passengers on the Tirunelveli-Chennai Vande Bharat Express have expressed concerns about hygiene and the responsibility of IRCTC after discovering live insects in the meal they were served. A caterer is fined Rs 50,000 by the railways:

On the subject, the Railways released a statement. An “immediate investigation was conducted,” it stated. At the Dindihul station, a health inspector looked over the food package.

They discovered that instead of being within the sambhar, the insect had purportedly adhered to the aluminium container’s lid.

Consequently, the Railways fined the culinary service provider Rs 50,000.

To determine the source of the contamination, food samples were gathered and submitted for analysis. The Railways stated that additional action is being taken and that the contractor, Ms. Brindavan Food Products, has been fined Rs. 50,000 for this negligence.

It stated: “The Railway is investigating the incident in detail, taking into account all potential sources of contamination.”
