The meaning of tattoos we have on our body may evolve over time. Celebrities, like the rest of us, may come to regret some tattoos. While many of them opt to have the undesired images and inscriptions permanently removed from their skin, others use their imagination and ingenuity to alter the tattoos, giving them new positive meanings.
After her divorce, Heidi Klum had an abstract design erased from her arm.
Heidi Klum had an abstract wave-shaped pattern tattooed on her elbow in 2008 to honour her then-husband Seal’s vow renewal. “It was our fourth wedding,” Heidi explained, “and we wanted our names tattooed together.”
The model chose to remove the design dedicated to her husband after filing for divorce in 2012, but she kept the four small stars that are dedicated to her children.
Kaley Cuoco transformed her wedding tattoo into a moth.
The date of Kaley’s wedding to Ryan Sweeting, written in Roman numerals, was the original tattoo beneath her neck. The actress opted to cover up the wedding date with a moth image after their divorce. Kaley chose a giant moth with big wings because the tattoo needs to be large enough to cover the existing motif.
Malin Kerman added one letter to her tattoo to change its meaning.
Malin’s original wrist tattoo was the letter “Z,” which stood for her ex-surname. husband’s Following their divorce, the actress decided to cover the unpleasant tattoo with the letter “S.” Her son’s name, “Sebastian,” begins with the letter “S.”
A grammatical error was repaired by Zo Kravitz.
The original Arabic quote on Zo’s back was reportedly incorrect, saying “Let the love the rule” instead of “Let love rule.” The actress chose to cover over the tattoo with a beautiful dragonfly.
Angelina Jolie’s tattoo has a deeper meaning for her.
Angelina Jolie’s dragon tattoo was dedicated to her then-husband, Billy Bob Thornton. Following their breakup, the actress covered the ink with the coordinates of her children’s birthplaces. Angelina Jolie is a major enthusiast of tattoos and is said to have more than 15 on her body.
Keith Urban devoted his wrist tattoo to Nicole Kidman.
Nicole Kidman’s initials appear on the musician’s tribal-style bracelet, which he dedicated to her. The Latin phrase “Omnia vincit amor,” which means “Love conquers all,” is covered by this bracelet.
