India defeated England, the reigning champions, by 68 runs in Guyana on Thursday, setting up a T20 World Cup final matchup with South Africa. Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets in the process. Bumrah was left hanging after the game ended due to the second wicket.

The Indian players celebrated by shaking hands as the English batter took the DRS after trapping Jofra Archer LBW with an inswinging yorker. Like his teammates, Bumrah approached the umpire to shake hands, but he was refused the opportunity to keep his cap. He was left hanging when he gave it another go. The players left the field to put an end to the game when the third umpire signalled that it was, in fact, a dismissal. Presumably, if Bumrah did

In the 2022 semi-finals, England, who had defeated India by 10 wickets, slumped to 103 all out while needing to chase 172. The two spinners, Kuldeep Yadav (3-19) and Axar Patel (3-23), shared six wickets between them.

After losing the toss, India scored 171-7 in a rain-interrupted innings led by skipper Rohit Sharma (57, his third fifty of the competition) and Suryakumar Yadav (47).

After the victory, Rohit Shamra expressed his happiness by saying, “Very satisfying to win this game.” As a team, we worked incredibly hard. It took a tremendous effort from everyone to win this game in that manner. We did a great job adapting to the circumstances. We adjusted because it was a challenge. We took advantage of the circumstances.”

In the first semi-final on Wednesday, South Africa defeated Afghanistan by nine wickets to secure their spot in the Barbados final on Saturday.

At this tournament, neither South Africa nor India have dropped a game yet.

India, who lost to Australia in the 50-over World Cup final last year on home soil, will be vying for their first major championship since winning the 2013 Champions Trophy.
