The CEO and AI Native founder of Vanshiv Tech, Gaurav Kheterpal, posted about the incident on X, describing the hiring process and raising concerns about the growing trend of last-minute job changes.
According to Kheterpal’s post, the company waited until the candidate had completed a three-month notice period at her prior employer before hiring her.
The company granted the candidate’s request for an extra Rs 50,000 in compensation just three days before her joining date, since it did not want to take the risk of a last-minute withdrawal.

He stated that the employee asked permission to work from home, citing personal difficulties, after joining, finishing onboarding, and picking up corporate equipment. The company granted the request. But the next day, the worker ceased answering texts, emails, and phone calls.
The CEO claimed that after the business eventually got in touch with her, she told them that she was unable to proceed for “personal reasons.” She then requested that the firm pick up the laptop that had been given to her, he continued.
According to Kheterpal, if the company’s assets were not restored, he had to personally step in and issue a formal email threatening legal action. He called the actions “extremely unprofessional” and urged the employee to turn in the laptop and other assets by 8 p.m., failing which the company would take legal and criminal action, according to a screenshot he included with his message.

The employer then discovered that the worker had joined another company that offered Rs 25,000 more than what they had offered.
He commented, “After three months, we’re back to square one while the candidate fulfilled her greed for 25K,” and expressed his hope that such candidates will soon be replaced by artificial intelligence.
Imagine selling your soul for 25K! That too when you are on 15 LPA.

Several people shared their personal stories of job exits and hiring difficulties in response to the post, which sparked an online discussion. One customer reported that even after completing their leaving procedures, they had travelled to return a $150 corporate charger, paying $250 on transportation to make sure everything was returned correctly.
Another user stated that professional obligations were frequently disregarded during job changes and that such situations were becoming more frequent.
Additionally, some people recommended developing a Glassdoor-like platform where employers could record applicants’ professional behaviour and make well-informed hiring judgements.
