Baahubali, the magnum opus from the maestro, S.S. Rajamouli, is one of the most memorable films that has managed to put India on the world map. The film, which is a period tale portraying Bhalladeva’s defeat at the hands of Baahubali, is a visual treat that has shattered box office records all over the world.
Prabhas and Rana Daggubati were outstanding in their roles, and it would be difficult for any fan to envision another actor in their place. According to a TOI investigation, some performers were really given roles in the film, but they never materialised. Here are five actors who declined roles.
1. Hrithik Roshan
The titular part was given to the Greek God of Bollywood, but he was not in the mood to take on another historical drama after closing up Jodhaa Akbar. Despite being on a programme, the director stated that Prabhas was the only person he had in mind for the role.
2. Sonam Kapoor
The Aisha actress stated that she was approached for Baahubali during a chat show with Neha Dhupia, but she never mentioned the character she was offered to portray.
3. John Abraham
According to the same rumour, this attractive actor was offered the role of Bhallaladeva, but he declined. According to the report, the filmmaker eventually opted on a cast that was not from Bollywood.
The late actress was considered for the role of Sivagami Devi, but due to compensation and screen time difficulties, Ramya Krishnan was cast instead.
The South Indian superstar was approached to play the renowned part of Kattapa, but he declined due to screen time constraints.
