Actresses with exceptional talent can play a variety of parts, including those in which they must turn into extremely unattractive women. They must do a variety of things to make the transition appear real, including losing or gaining a lot of weight in a short period of time, wearing shapeless clothing, and spending a lot of time in makeup that hides their natural attractiveness.

Regular moviegoers and film critics alike enjoy all of this work. Four of the females we’ll be talking about have won the Oscar, the most coveted award in the film industry.

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet has played a lot of attractive women, but in The Reader, she played an illiterate German lady who was convicted of killing hundreds of people. This picture earned the actress an Academy Award nomination. Kate’s role appeared much older and uglier than Kate herself, thanks to her and the incredible cosmetic work of the makeup professionals.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman is well-known for her versatility as an actress. Portman bravely shaved her head for her character in V for Vendetta, and she played a woman who was a victim of the Spanish Inquisition in Goya’s Ghosts (picture on the left).

Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz is a beautiful blonde Hollywood actress with a pleasant grin who is difficult to imagine as unattractive. Cameron, on the other hand, played an unattractive girl in the 1999 film Being John Malkovich. Because of her lack of makeup and a mop of dark hair on her head, she was nominated for prestigious awards such as the BAFTA and the Golden Globe.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman earned an Academy Award for her portrayal of writer Virginia Woolf in The Hours in 2003. She looked eerily similar to her model thanks to the cosmetics. And the actress has a long record of films in which she portrays gorgeous women: Moulin Rouge!, The Others, Cold Mountain, Australia, Grace of Monaco, and many more.

Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron has played a number of fatal beauties, but her performance in Monster earned her critical acclaim and adoration. The actress portrayed a serial killer in this film. She had to gain more than 22 pounds to achieve the metamorphosis, and she looked repulsive thanks to the work of some brilliant makeup artists. Theron won a Golden Globe, an Oscar, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in Monster.

Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Pfeiffer, a Hollywood beauty, played a terrifying old witch in Matthew Vaughn’s Stardust. And, as she grew older in the picture, we were astounded by how attractive and fit she remained. When she worked on this picture, she was around 50 years old.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway portrayed Fantine in the musical Les Misérables, which was based on Victor Hugo’s novel. Anne’s character had to sell her hair, teeth, and become a prostitute in order to sustain herself and her daughter.

In order to portray this character, she had to lose more than 22 pounds in a short amount of time and have her long hair cut on camera – this sequence was genuinely filmed. Anne won a Golden Globe, an Oscar, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in Les Misérables.

Drew Barrymore

Since she was five years old, the daughter of the Barrymore actor family has been on the big screen. After her performance in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, she had her first big break. Drew essentially grew up on screen, and we saw her in a variety of roles, including as a stunning young woman and as a fat adolescent with braces in the film Never Been Kissed.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow was outfitted in a 25-pound costume and had special latex makeup applied to her face for her role in the comedy Shallow Hal, written and directed by the Farrelly brothers. When the actress decided to walk down the street in this outfit, she claimed that people didn’t recognise her and attempted to avoid staring at her. Thanks to this experience, she realized how hard it was for people to live with extra weight.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts is no longer known solely for her roles in romantic comedies from the 1990s. Nobody doubted her talent after her well-deserved Oscar for her part in Erin Brockovich. In the film Secret in Their Eyes (shown on the left), Roberts played a lady investigator whose daughter was brutally murdered.

Lena Headey

This English actress has a long list of notable roles to her credit, but it was her portrayal of Cersei Lannister in the HBO series Game of Thrones that made her genuinely renowned. Lena portrays a ruthless woman-gangster in the 2012 film Dredd. She needed special makeup to simulate wounds on her face for this job. She had to have crooked teeth and cracked lips as well.

Do you know of any other females that are as dedicated to their craft as these two?
