Twitter, Elon Musk’s microblogging platform, previously disclosed that verified Twitter accounts must subscribe to a service in order to maintain their blue ticks. The microblogging platform recently began removing checkmark indicators from user accounts that did not pay the Rs 650 monthly subscription fee.

Notable individuals including Bill Gates, Virat Kohli, Hillary Clinton, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are among the 4 lakh people who lost their Twitter Blue ticks on Friday.

The verified blue ticks on their Twitter accounts have also been removed from Indian leaders Rahul Gandhi and many chief ministers, as well as Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan.

One of the first famous people to respond after Elon Musk’s Twitter removed “Blue Ticks” from the verified accounts of well-known people was Amitabh Bachchan.

Using Twitter, Big B demanded the return of his blue tick and claimed he had already paid for the same.

In a humorous post, Amitabh Bachchan begged Twitter and Elon Musk to restore the blue tick. He tweeted the following in Hindi:

T 4623 – ए twitter भइया ! सुन रहे हैं ? अब तो पैसा भी भर दिये हैं हम … तो उ जो नील कमल ✔️ होत है ना, हमार नाम के आगे, उ तो वापस लगाय दें भैया , ताकि लोग जान जायें की हम ही हैं – Amitabh Bachchan .. हाथ तो जोड़ लिये रहे हम । अब का, गोड़वा 👣जोड़े पड़ी का ??

The tweet is a request to Twitter. Do you hear me? Now that I’ve also paid the money… Put that blue tick back so that people can identify me as Amitabh Bachchan. I’ve already folded my hands; do I also need to unite my feet?

The removal of the blue tick on Twitter happened months after Elon Musk established the deadline to get people to sign up for Twitter Blue, its paid subscription service. According to reports, obtaining Blue Verified accreditation in India requires paying Rs 900 per month (or Rs 9,400 per year).

The list of well-known people who lost their blue tick status is endless and includes Yogi Adityanath, Alia Bhatt, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and many others.

In order to keep the blue ticks, Elon Musk has also given several celebrities free Twitter Blue subscriptions.

Musk said,

“I am paying for a few personally”

He added,

“Just William Shatner, LeBron James and Stephen King”

Now, it appears that anyone can purchase a verified Blue Tick account and acquire one. It doesn’t really matter if you’re a famous person or a well-known figure.
