Online discussion on the Kannada language dispute has been sparked by a social media post that went viral and claimed that Bengaluru was closed to North India.
“Bengaluru is closed for North India and neighbouring states who don’t want to learn Kannada,” a social media user wrote in a post on “X.” If they cannot respect the language and culture, they don’t need Bengaluru.”
Babruvahana (@Paarmatma) just posted something that has received a lot of attention—more than 115,000 views, 198 reposts, and 1,839 likes. (When this article was written.) A social media user who identified as a “migrant to Bengaluru” responded to the message by saying it might come out as a little harsh.
However, I am deeply hurt anytime I witness Bengaluru residents utterly reject Kannada as a tribal language and even denigrate Kannada speakers as illiterates, especially in business settings. He declared, “Kannada is a remarkably rich language that has won the most literary honours, such as the Sahitya Akademi and Jnanpith awards (sic).”

Instead of using a negative backlash, he said it was time for Kannadigas to start a positive Kannada pride movement.
“Taking pride in one’s language and culture is not chauvinistic,” he stated.
Another social media user offered an alternative viewpoint, claiming that the reason Bengaluru is still in existence today is due to the diligent efforts of individuals from other states who helped to build it.

Bengaluru is present today because to the diligent work of individuals from different states who worked tirelessly to build this city. Remember that! Do you want others to go now that everything is constructed? Shame on the Karnataka government and Kannada people for doing nothing,” he remarked.
While consenting to study Kannada, another user insisted that the state government employ qualified instructors to teach Kannada in offices.
“All right, I’ll find out. However, request that your government hire qualified Kannada teachers to educate in offices and, more significantly, use the Kannada code language to create apps. According to the user, “ask your government to send all other state people back to their states (sic).”
