Rapido is accused by a Bengaluru interior designer of deserting her after she was severely hurt in a bike taxi accident. The platform’s safety promises and support response have come under more scrutiny as a result of her viral tale.

A Rapido bike taxi ride to work turned into a nightmare for 32-year-old Sani Krishna, who suffered life-threatening injuries and more than Rs 20 lakh in medical bills.

The interior designer from Bengaluru has now promised to take the case to the consumer court, accusing the company of failing to assist her following the accident.

Originally from Kerala, Sani said that the tragedy happened on June 17 after she scheduled a Rapido bike taxi for her regular travel from Byrasandra to her Domlur office. She claims that the rider tried to pass a tractor close to Bagmane Tech Park after the ride had only gone a kilometre.

She said that the motorcycle lost balance due to the careless manoeuvre, hurling her onto the road before the tractor drove over her and seriously injured her.

After being taken to a nearby hospital, Sani was moved to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, where she had many procedures.

Later, for additional care and rehabilitation, she was moved to Mithras Hospital in Kozhikode, Kerala.

“Rapido spends millions marketing their women’s safety feature,” Sani wrote on Instagram, accusing the corporation of not living up to the safety guarantees it promotes. I put my trust in them for my morning journey on June 17. Rather, they left me after I was crushed by a tractor,” she claimed.

She also claimed that she received only automated emails pointing her in the direction of the insurance claims procedure after issuing the corporation with a legal notice. “Then I understood that I was not alone,” she said. Numerous people have talked about their experiences and mentioned how difficult it was for them to support them. I’m taking Rapido Safety Guarantee to the consumer court since it’s a marketing ploy.

“They can no longer treat our lives as collateral damage,” she continued, pleading with viewers to spread the word about her video and hold the business responsible.

Rapido addressed the viral posts after the reaction, claiming to have communicated with Sani about the issue.

Sani, however, disagreed with the company’s assertion, claiming that she was essentially forced to bear the excessive expense of her treatment while relying on an insurance reimbursement of Rs 1 lakh.

Thousands of people have supported Sani on social media since the video went viral. Many people have left encouraging notes in the comments area, while others have talked about their own struggles to get help following incidents involving bike taxi services.

Additionally, several users have called for authorities to look into the incident and demanded that ride-hailing services be held more accountable for passenger safety and post-accident assistance.
