It can be harsh to fire someone for making a single error because everyone deserves the opportunity to grow and learn. According to a woman on LinkedIn, a similar situation allegedly occurred with a Blinkit delivery partner. She asserted that the partner was fired for a single mistake, which sparked conversations about empathy and justice in the workplace. Blinkit reacts.
A woman posted on LinkedIn over the purportedly unjust termination of a Blinkit delivery partner.
The Better India’s Director of Impact Partnerships, Garvita Khybri, recently shared an incident on LinkedIn, a professional social media platform, in which a Blinkit delivery partner was purportedly kicked from the platform following one incorrect delivery. According to Khybri’s own words,
“Yesterday I made an order via Blinkit and I got the wrong order. After speaking with the customer care for 15 mins, they resolved and gave me my money back and took the wrong order away.”
She further shared how the delivery partner appeared on her doorsteps,
“Today morning the same delivery partner, who delivered yesterday, knocked on my door again and said that Blinkit has fired him from the platform for wrong delivery. The delivery partner said that it wasn’t his fault and now he is being made the scapegoat. Albinder Dhindsa this is quite unfair, right. Attached is the name and ID of the partner.”

She shared how he asked for his help,
“He’s been asking me to call customer care and get him back on the app. What can be done to bring him back on the platform?”
She also included Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa in her article, pleading with him to intervene and assist in the delivery partner’s reinstatement. The partner felt he was being unjustly punished for an uncontrollable circumstance.

Action over a single occurrence was denied by Blinkit.
A Blinkit representative who was reached by email denied that the company had disciplined a delivery partner for a single incorrect delivery.
“We do not take punitive action against a delivery partner for a single incident of an incorrect order. The behavioural concerns of the said delivery partner were thoroughly reviewed, and action was taken based on identified patterns and gaps in standard protocols,” the spokesperson stated.
Additionally, Blinkit expressed gratitude to Garvita Khybri for drawing their notice to the issue in a comment on her LinkedIn article, stating,
“Hello Garvita, thank you so much for alerting us to this and for considering the welfare of the delivery partner. We want to reassure you that we never punish a delivery partner for more than one instance of this kind.
Blinkit went on to explain the rationale for the choice.
“The behavioural concern were thoroughly reviewed, and action was taken based on identified patterns and gaps in standard protocols. We appreciate you taking the time to address this and help us address the situation constructively.”
