Numerous people participated in a variety of celebrations on the exciting evening of December 31, 2023. People couldn’t stop rejoicing as the world bid farewell to the previous year and welcomed the new one. Festivities included small get-togethers at home and opulent parties hosted in five-star hotels, all of which were capped off by delectable feasts shared with loved ones.

But amid all this crazy partying, a sizable portion of people made the convenient decision to place online meal orders. More delivery requests were made as a result. A similar incident involved the supermarket delivery app Blinkit as well. Although the majority of delivery requests are rather standard, Blinkit was even perplexed by one particular request.

One of these instances was a customer placing a purchase using the Blinkit app, and an odd and amusing tale resulted. They had no clue this would be such an oddball transaction. Acknowledged for its efficient delivery service, Blinkit found itself in a comical predicament that it had to share with its viewers.

Everyone was stunned by the customer’s request to the Blinkit chat support team.

When the clock struck midnight and orders started rolling in, one person’s experience with Blinkit made for some amusement. The humorous twist to the custom of the New Year’s Eve food delivery rush came from the circumstances of this extraordinary encounter, which Blinkit revealed.

The story started when a customer claimed that the snacks and drinks they had purchased for the New Year’s Eve celebration were missing something. The customer support agent Akash started working on the problem. “Could you please tell me what is missing from your order?” Akash enquired further.

The client laughed and responded, “Friends to party with,” adding an emoticon of a crying face. He asked the delivery rider whether he might remain back as well.

Sharing the screenshot of the post on platform X, Blinkit wrote,

“Akash has left the chat.”

Since its December 31 posting, the tweet has garnered more than 2.62 lakh views and many comments.

People’s responses varied; some found the scenario funny, while others could relate to it.

Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, responded to the entire situation.

The CEO Albinder Dhindsa took notice of the message after seeing the large number of retweets and comments it received. He made a funny comment, “Guys please stop doing this,” while citing Blinkit’s article and using laughing emojis.

On December 31, however, several food delivery and grocery delivery firms recorded their highest-ever single-day orders. Data regarding the increase in orders was provided by Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart. By 5:15 p.m. on December 31, 2022, Blinkit’s CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, said that the company had exceeded all of the orders placed for New Year’s Eve. On the platform, orders per minute and orders per day also hit their peak. Lucknow placed the largest party order on the platform, according to Dhindsa.
