Bollywood celebrities possess some of the most costly cars, so it’s understandable that they’d want to travel in them. However, several celebrities have been sighted using public transportation such as the auto, local train, and taxi. Take a look at the list to see if it’s all for publicity.

1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin was observed at a Mumbai railway station. He had a mask over his face, as well as a cap and sunglasses. People were baffled as to who he was. However, a video of him sitting in a local train was provided by someone who was able to identify him. He reportedly rode the train to avoid traffic and arrive on time for an event.

2. Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff took a local train in Mumbai to avoid the rush hour and return home after the filming. To avoid being recognised, he wore a blue sweatshirt and a white mask that covered his full face. He described the experience of commuting by local rail to the Mumbai Mirror:

I got to see a different side of the world after a long time. I wish I could take a train every day, it would make travelling faster. We had been shooting in Vasai which is far from Bandra where I live. We packed up during peak hours and since there was traffic on the road then, I decided to take the train though people around me thought I am crazy.

4. Jacqueline Fernandez

Jacqueline Fernandez was seen riding in a vehicle in Mumbai ahead of her trip with Justin Bieber. When questioned if she isn’t worried of being recognised by strangers, she told The Mirror, “I’m not afraid of being recognised by strangers.”

Taking public transportation keeps me grounded and sane. My fans are chill and give me room, or maybe they just don’t recognise me, so I don’t get mobbed.

Big B was seen on a Mumbai local train in support of Saurabh Nimbkar in 2015, when he hosted the TV show Aaj Ki Raat Zindagi. Saurabh sings in Mumbai’s local trains to raise money for cancer patients and had previously featured on his show. This was not a public relations stunt, according to Big B.

It was carried out secretly without Saurabh’s knowledge, as a surprise for him and the numerous people that travel with him on a daily basis.

9. Imtiaz Ali

The director of Love Aaj Kal has been spotted in Mumbai multiple times in a vehicle. He once became stranded in the Mumbai rains without any cash in his wallet, and an auto driver gave him a ride home for free.

Imtiaz took to Facebook and shared the incident. He wrote:

Night walk in the rain! the auto-rickshaw came along and asked if I wanted a ride. I refused, he asked again – it was raining and I was without cover. I had checked my wallet, I smiled at him and said I had no money. He looked at me and asked me to sit in, he would drop me without money.

Which of these came as a surprise to you the most?
