Nature has its ways of exacting revenge from humans, and a recent case that has come to light demonstrates just that. Apparently, for the past three years, a daily wager named Shiva Kewat, from Shivpuri’s Sumela village has been fighting a bizarre battle with a murder of crows.
Sounds hilarious, right? Now imagine being attacked by birds every time you step out of your house…still find it funny? Yea didn’t think so.
Every time, Shiva steps out of the house, he has to look towards the sky, to check if he is about to get attacked by a lone crow or a murder of crows.
It turns out there is a reason for his bizarre fear, as he has been getting attacked by crows for the last three years, every time he steps out of the house, as a form of ‘revenge’ by the birds.
Revenge for what, you ask? Well, it’s rather unfortunate, as all Kewat did was try to save a chick, but it ended up dying in his hands, which invited the wrath of the birds upon him.
“It died in my hands. If only I could explain to them, I was only trying to help,” says Kewat, who now carries a stick at most times to defend himself, but is careful never to hit a crow. “I wave it around to shoo them off. Poor things, they believe I killed the chick,” he told TOI.
Crows are known to remember people who have wronged them, and while this may sound eccentric, it’s quite right. Also, they’re known to plot sinister things with other crows and launch vicious attacks on those who offended them!
We can’t help but feel bad for this guy who only wanted to help. Guess, not all good deeds are rewarded!
