In India, tea, or chai, is much more than just a drink. It’s far more than just drinking tea; it’s a fundamental aspect of social interactions and everyday living. However, how much is a warm cup of chai worth to an Indian? A cafe in Dubai sells gold tea valued at Rs 1 lakh, whereas a cup of tea at the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai costs approximately Rs 650–750.
Boho Cafe, located in the DIFC’s Emirates Financial Towers and owned by Indian-origin restaurateur Sucheta Sharma, is gaining popularity on social media for its “Gold karak” tea, which is served with 24-carat gold leaf.
A food YouTuber tours the cafe-restaurant and its most talked-about beverage in a video that goes viral. According to the vlogger, the tea is served with a gold-dusted croissant on the side, a gold leaf, and pure silver tableware.
Customers can keep a memento and the silver cutlery of their choice.
