Isaacson added,
“In 2020, Musk decided to sell his five grand houses and to have as his primary residence this Spartan two-bedroom house in Boca Chica, TX, where we would meet and he would sit at this wood table and make phone calls”
Musk reportedly spent $50,000 (about Rs. 41 lakhs) for the 375-square-foot prefab house created by the Las Vegas firm, Boxabl, according to Hello Magazine.
According to Boxabl’s official website, Musk’s Casita residence features a family-size kitchen with modern conveniences, a fireplace, a walk-in closet, a full-size shower space, a bathroom, a bedroom and a living room. A glance at Musk’s exquisite taste can be found in Isaacson’s tweet, which features unique items like a rocket figurine and a Japanese sword (Katana) on display. Additionally, Musk previously tweeted a picture of his bedside in 2022, which showed two inoperable toy guns and caffeine-free Diet Coke cans.
Musk revealed on the Full Send podcast that he turned his two-bedroom, minimalist house into a three-bedroom after buying it from Boxabl. He stated:
“I’ve done a lot. It’s technically a three-bedroom; it used to be a two-bedroom, but I converted the garage into a third bedroom”

He even admitted during the programme that his friends are surprised by his choice to live in a prefab house. He went on,
“They come and stay, and they can’t believe I’m staying in this house”

He chose significantly more modest lodgings than most millionaire CEOs in keeping with his anti-materialistic outlook. He acknowledged in June 2021 that his primary residence was a modest $50,000 (£40,000) Boca Chica house that he leased from his company SpaceX via Twitter (X).
