When a Greenland fisherman grabbed a fish with three eyes, he, to put it mildly, netted an extraordinary creature. Social media posts featured images of the fish with three eyes: one on top of its head, one on each side, and one on the left and right. When and when the strange-looking fish was caught is still unknown.
Pictures of fish with three eyes go viral

However, the image shared on the r/Europe subreddit has gone viral, with many people asking how the fish was able to survive for so long. Many others questioned whether its three eyes were working and, if so, how it saw objects.
“It’s highly probable that one or potentially two of the three components are malfunctioning. The fish appears to have exophthalmia in its left eye, suggesting it might be non-functional. I’ve often observed various abnormalities in fish, and usually, the additional part is non-operational,” according to a Reddit user.
The Simpsons fans see Blinky

“Followers of The Simpsons have associated the unusual organism with Blinky, as the image gained widespread attention. Blinky, also known as the Three-Eyed Fish, appeared in two Simpsons episodes in 1990, titled “Two Cars in Every Garage and Three Eyes on Every Fish.””
Who is Blinky
“Blinky was depicted as an orange, three-eyed fish species, residing in Springfield Nuclear Power Plant’s surrounding bodies of water, mutated by radiation. A Reddit user remarked, “The Simpsons predicted correctly once again,” while another questioned if the fish had been exposed to Springfield’s radiation.”
Another mutant fish caught in 2023
“The cause of the mutation in the 2023 Greenland fish capture remains uncertain. However, it is worth mentioning that a mutant wolf fish was caught by an Argentinian fisherman in a reservoir supplied by a local nuclear power plant during the same year.”
